Mini-Bosses are special Monsters in Fortnite: Save the World. They are extremely stronger versions of regular Monsters and Mist Monsters.
Overview[]
Mini-Bosses have drastically increased health than normal and elemental Husks and Mist Monsters. They have a tendency to spawn in Mutant Storm missions that have the
Epic Mini-Boss modifier.
V-Bucks & X-Ray Ticket rewards can only appear on these Mini-Boss missions.
The Hexsylvania and Flannel Falls Venture Seasons are considered Mini-Boss Seasons, which means most
Mission Alerts have the
Epic Mini-Boss modifier present, and the rewards from those missions are greatly increased. This also significantly increases the chance of missions awarding V-Bucks and X-Ray Tickets.
Mini-Bosses always appear in
Mega Storm (4-player recommended) missions during the main defense stage of the Mission.
Appearance-wise, Mini-Bosses appear to have a glossy look when compared to normal Monsters, with a bright purple glow.

Types[]
There are 3 types of Mini-Bosses in regular and event missions:
- Husk: The weakest of the Mini-Bosses, and the easiest to fight.
- Husky: Stronger than the Husk. More health than the Husk Mini-Boss in comparison.
- Smasher: The only Mist Monster to be a Mini-Boss. The hardest of the three as they have the highest health and structure damage.
- The Smasher is the only Mini-Boss that the Mythic Storm King summons.
3 more types of Mini-Bosses are found in limited time events:
- Blaster (The Grotto only)
- Taker (The Crypts only)
- Chrome Husky (Flannel Falls only)
List of Modifiers[]
The Modifiers are indicated below the Mini-Boss' infobox on the top-left of the screen.
| Modifier | Description |
|---|---|
| Element | The Mini-Boss can be of the Fire, Nature, or Water Element, regardless of the Mission's Element. |
| Acid Pools | The boss leaves behind a damaging acid pool which lingers for a few seconds. |
| Berserker | The boss becomes enraged and quickened once they reach 50% health. |
| Building Blocker | The boss leaves obstacles behind as they traverse, temporarily stopping players from building structures or placing traps. |
| Corrosive | The boss causes buildings made out of any material to corrode or take damage over time after being hit. |
| Damage-Pulse | The boss emits waves that damage nearby players and buildings. |
| Frenzied | The boss is always quickened, meaning they always have a movement speed buff. |
| Healer | The boss emits waves to heal nearby enemies as well as themselves, similar to The Nurse. |
| Ricochet | The boss reflects back 100% of the damage dealt to it using Ranged Weapons. |
| Slowing Pools | The boss leaves behind a pool that lingers for a few seconds and slows players who step into it. |
| Shield Breaker | The boss can break players' shields with a single hit. |
| Smoke Screen | The boss creates a hazy barrier around the Mini-Boss. Enemies standing inside the smoke take reduced Ranged Weapon damage. Melee Weapons are recommended. |
| Trap-Vulnerable | The Mini-Boss takes 99% less damage from Ranged and Melee Weapon attacks but is 99% more vulnerable to Traps, making them the easiest type of Mini-Boss to defeat. |
| Tank | The boss has very high Damage Resistance. |
| Wall Weakening | The boss applies corrosion to walls built from any material. |
| Vampiric | The modifier is the same as Life Leech Attacks, where every time a player is hit by the Mini-Boss, they heal themselves for a certain percentage. |
Strategy[]
|
This section outlines a strategy. |
| Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- B.A.S.E. Hero abilities counts towards Husk Extermination (Traps) Daily Quests and Trap-Vulnerable Mini-Bosses.
- A very important thing to know is that Mini-Bosses do not follow the rule of elemental storms (ex. Nature Mini-Boss in an Ice Storm).
- Sometimes, Mini-Bosses tend to possess multiple modifiers that can heavily change the course of the mission and gameplay.
- For example, they may have modifier combinations like Wall Weakening and Corrosive that can either slightly or drastically devastate an objective and its defenses depending on what type spawns, or Ricochet and Knockback that can dramatically change a player's gameplay.
Trivia[]
- Mini-Bosses despawn after a certain amount of time.
- Pushing Mini-Bosses off the world border causes them to get instantly eliminated.
- This, however, grants no rewards to players, but does grant quest progress.
- Mini-Bosses can be instantly eliminated by lava bombs in Twine Peaks Endurance[1]
