For information on Monsters in Save the World, see Monsters.

Monsters, sometimes called "Creatures" are AIs in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They act very similar to the Husks in Fortnite: Save the World.

There are three types of Monsters in Battle Royale:

In Fortnite: Creative Cube Monsters and Ice Legion can be spawned using the Creature Placer and Monster Spawner Devices.

Sideways Monsters[]

Sideways Monsters, introduced in Chapter 2: Season 8, are more advanced versions of Cube Monsters. They only spawn in Sideways Encounters and locations controlled by the Sideways. They drop Cube Monster Parts and Ammunition upon death.

Trivia[]

  • Pickaxes deal 100 damage per swing to Monsters.
  • Monsters were the first AIs introduced in Battle Royale, predating Bots & Guards.
  • When hit with a Boogie Bomb, the Monsters have a notably louder clap sound than players and other human AIs.
  • The Sideways Scythe, Fiend Hunter Crossbow, and Dual Fiend Hunters deal twice the normal damage to Monsters.
  • Ice Cube & Sideways Monsters are only available in the Horde Rush.
  • Monsters cannot swim and will immediately die upon contacting water. Caretakers are an exception to this rule.
  • The Sideways Fiend and Brute could've been used as Outfits on developer accounts during Chapter 2: Season 8. However the models would be compressed to fit the player model rigs. Indicating this was unintentional.
  • Shadows, which were player characters during the Midas' Revenge event, were later added as an AI called "Daybreak Ghosts" to the Impossible Escape! LTM They act very similar to Monsters as an AI.
  • Monsters use the same animations and also resemble Mist Monsters from Fortnite: Save the World. They function similarly to the various types of Husk Monsters:
    • The Fiend functions similar to the Husk.
    • The Brute functions similar to the Husky.
    • The Ranged Fiend functions similar to the Lobber, but without the AOE and poison effect.
    • The Poison Fiend functions similar to the Beehive, but without the destructible beehive.
    • The Exploding Brute functions similar to the Sploder, but without the Propane Tank.
