The Mounted Turret is a Trap in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Season 6.
Functionality[]
The Mounted Turret is a unique trap that functions as a vehicle. When placed a tile will be created for the turret, or it will take up an existing floor tile. The player can interact with the turret to control it. Whilst it is controlled, the player can shoot, turn 360° and exit the turret. It has one seat. The Turret shoots hitscan bullets at a fast fire rate, but will overheat if fired for too long, like the Minigun. After this cooldown period is waited out, the turret can fire again. Opponents can destroy the turret by either damaging it enough, or destroying the supporting structure. The tile it is placed on cannot be destroyed, unless the rest of a structure is. Once placed, it can be used by any player regardless of team affiliation.
The Mounted Turret is a hitscan weapon with no damage falloff.

- You are very vulnerable when using a Mounted Turret, as it is a stationary object that players can easily shoot at. If you are using this turret, you can build a small shelter to protect angles which you are not firing at.

- Decreased time before overheating from 10s to 6s.

- Adjusted Mounted Turret collision to make it easier to land shots against anyone occupying it.
- Removed the ability to repair the Mounted Turret.
- Fixed players being able to clip into turret barrels and get stuck.
- Supply drops will automatically open if landing on a Mounted Turret.
- Decreased drop rate from 1.719% to 0.915%.
- Can no longer fire through its own floor.
