Nineteen Eighty-Fortnite is a Live Event in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
It featured the premiere of a simple short: Apple is declaring war on Epic Games in a movie theater when suddenly Brite Bomber, alongside a group of Sledges, run in and destroy the screen.
Background
On August 13th, Epic decided to reduce the price of Vbucks & Limited Time Offers permanently with a hotfix. This also brought the addition of a new feature on iOS devices; Epic Direct Payment. This feature made purchases cheaper than buying from the App Store which adds 30% to any purchase.
After a few hours, Fortnite was removed by Apple from the App Store.
A Party Royale show was announced on their Twitter titled “Nineteen Eighty-Four”. Fortnite’s followers were confused and didn’t take much notice until Fortnite added to the News Feed in-game.
Within minutes of the event being over, at 4:01 PM ET, #FreeFortnite was trending #1 on Twitter.
In just under an hour, Fortnite decided to tweet out some important information for their followers.
