Nitro Barrels are an Object in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Nitro Barrels were introduced in Chapter 5: Season 3.
Functionality[]
Breaking a Nitro Barrel applies Nitro to any player or Vehicle nearby for 20 seconds. The barrel then propels itself forward and explodes after a brief moment, dealing no damage and having no effect upon impact.
