The Octane is a Vehicle introduced in Update v22.10 only in Fortnite: Creative. It was then added to Fortnite: Battle Royale in Update v22.40. The Octane is from the game Rocket League.
Functionality[]
The Octane is a fast moving car with great handling. It can stop almost instantly, and has a wide range of mobility features. The car can boost increasing its speed using the sprint or attack button, as well as jump a significant distance upwards. The car can double jump, enabling it to do a forward flip when pressed. This jump can also be triggered with the aim button.
Holding crouch whilst in the air and pressing the left or right movement keys will allow the car to roll. Pressing forwards or backwards whilst in the air allows the car to tilt and flip in the direction pressed. Pressing both will allow the car to rotate in any direction. Pressing crouch whilst driving activates a handbrake.
The player can toggle the car's camera enabling it to lock behind the vehicle, or allow the player to rotate their camera around it. Unlike other cars, the Octane cannot be driven with the angle of viewing.
Ramming a player with an Octane at full speed will instantly eliminate the player, even with full health and shield. If the Octane does not deal enough damage to eliminate the player, it causes significant knockback.
Obtained[]
The Octane is obtained via the Octane Spawner in Fortnite: Creative, or on any maps which use it.
In Battle Royale, the Octane can be found in set locations around the island.

Trivia[]
- The Octane functions identically to how the cars in Rocket League do.
- The Octane is the first collaboration Item (and by extension Vehicle) to be present in Creative and available to all players.
- However, other collaboration items were limited to Epic Games partnered creators.
- Previous Collaborations in Creative were exclusive to maps, and props.
- The map used to showcase the Octane was shown to players before the spawner was put in the game, rendering it unusable until the next update.
