The subject of this article currently does not have an official name.
Pandora's Box Opening was a series of Mini-Live Events in Chapter 5: Season 1. It was a buildup event leading to Chapter 5: Season 2.
Buildup[]
Valeria came to the island in search of a certain "box" that can be seen in the Burning Ambition Valeria loading screen. In Update v28.00, a drawing of this box could be found at Reckless Railways.
In Update v28.20, Valeria's camp, which included a drawing of the box, could be found near Ruined Reels.
As of Update v28.30, a character named Odyssey could be found at Ruined Reels, She warns about the awakening of an ancient power beneath the island and "The Mosaic's" connection to it. She says the medallions are fragments of this power.
The Event[]
The Titan's Hand emerged from the ground, shaking the entire island.
While the gigantic Pandora's Box was chained to the hand, players could help open the box by breaking the 6 chains using Pickaxes or Weapons.
After all of the chains were destroyed, the box fell to the ground and sprung open, unleashing it's contents upon the island.

- 1pm ET: A great earthquake that affects the entire island.
- 2pm ET: The Hand Emergence, with Pandora's Box chained to it.
- 10pm ET: 1st chain broke. 80% health left.

Trivia[]
- The event codename is "CentralPicnic".
- The event briefly caused a glitch that allowed players to build in Zero Build mode after coming into contact with the souls coming out of the box, with the effected players able to loot materials from eliminated players.
- Occasionally before the event's actual end a bug would cause the box to spawn already opened in a match.
