The Poison Dart Trap was a Trap in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was added in Season 8.

Functionality[]

The Poison Dart traps fires projectiles over a 3 tile radius, meaning the trap can be activated without needing to occupy the tile it is placed in, as long as it has line of sight. The Trap shoots darts which when they hit a player, apply a damage over time effect to them, dealing damage directly to HP.

Obtained[]

Poison Dart Traps can be obtained from a variety of places. They are found as floor loot, in chests, in Supply Llamas and in Supply Drops. They drop in stacks of 1 and stack infinitely.

Stats[]

Poison Dart Traps deal 80 HP damage. They have a 7 second reset time.

  • Poison Dart Traps can be placed inside an enemy structure to catch an opponent on it.
  • Poison Dart Traps can be used to eliminate an enemy by boxing them in with one, forcing the trap to activate and damage the enemy.
  • Poison Dart Traps are especially useful in The Storm, as the damage dealt is very high, and only applies to HP. This means a player caught in The Storm will take extra HP damage, and possibly enough to kill them.

  • Its design and function are likely in reference to the Indiana Jones series of movies, which include the trope of escaping a temple whilst outrunning a dart trap similar to this one.
    • This became a reality when Poison Dart Traps appeared in Shuffled Shrines, added to collaborate with Indiana Jones.
  • Its appearance fits the aesthetic of Sunny Steps, with its Aztec inspired colors and details.
