Chapter 4[]

Polar Peak returns as an unnamed location.

History[]

Chapter 4: Season OG[]

  • Update v27.10: Polar Peak returns as an unnamed location with the addition of the snow biome. The location returns in the state after The Devourer emerged in Season 9.

Chapter 1[]

Polar Peak was a location in Battle Royale. It is a small piece of The Ice Moon that collided with the map and added snow to the southwest corner of the map at the beginning of Season 7. It is in the south-western corner of the map. You can see Polar Peak from any part of the map since it is so large.

History[]

Season 6[]

  • After The Butterfly Event, Polar Peak broke off the moon and landed in the ocean near the Island.

Season 7[]

  • January 19, 2019 during Ice Storm, the mysterious floating ice orb that contained The Ice King had broke, fully revealing The Ice King. The Ice King then used a giant projection of himself, his icy powers, and some remaining fragments of Kevin The Cube to cover the map in snow. Ice Shards and the Ice Legion had then begin to appear on the island. This was later known as the Ice Storm event.

Season 8[]

  • May 4, 2019, Polar Peak was struck by a fireball during the Volcano Eruption, creating a large crack in the ice.

Season 9[]

  • During Week 2 of Season 9, the bottom of the iceberg melted due to the Crack causing Polar Peak to rapidly lose its integrity, revealing a small space. In that small space, wind would constantly blow out, pushing nearby players back.
  • May 28, 2019, the ice near the bottom of the iceberg melted even more, this time becoming translucent and revealing a giant eye of the The Devourer.
  • June 6, 2019, The Devourer under Polar Peak emerged, destroying parts of the kingdom and taking out a large chunk from the edge of the iceberg carrying the castle. The monster itself made giant footprints around the snow biome, which lead to the sea. It could occasionally be found swimming around the island with the castle on its back.

Season X[]

  • Like all other POIs on Athena island, the location was removed from the game during The End (Chapter 1) live event.

Trivia[]

  • There were three sculptures located somewhere at the bottom of Polar Peak. The sculptures were the Raven outfit, the Love Ranger outfit, and the Red Knight outfit.
  • The Infinity Blade was located at Polar Peak before it was vaulted. It got replaced by an ice block, which on June 6, 2019 collapsed with the other parts of Polar Peak.
  • The castle belonged to The Ice King.
  • Before the castle was destroyed, Polar Peak was the highest you could go on the Chapter 1 map without building or using Rifts.
  • Despite returning in Season OG, Polar Peak was no longer named. This is likely because the castle was gone, and Epic decided there wasn’t enough there for it to be a POI.
