Powers are a type of item in Fortnite: Battle Royale. These items grant the player unique and powerful abilities. The first of these were added in Chapter 2: Season 4.
Functionality[]
Powers fill various different roles, and are used for offense, mobility or support. Each superpower falls into one of these categories, and some of them offer multiple at once.
Chapter 2: Season 4[]
- Main Abilities are presented in a square shape, with these weapons being used to attack opponents instead of a regular weapon. They have no cooldown.
- Side Abilities are presented in an upside down triangle shape, with these abilities being used alongside other weaponry. These powers have a cooldown on them.
- Support Abilities are presented in a circle shape, with these abilities being used to heal oneself, protect others or deflect attacks. These powers also have a cooldown.
Chapter 2: Season 5 onwards[]
- Powers greatly range in use, but all use cooldowns to an extent.

Trivia[]
- In Arena, the only Power that was available was Doctor Doom's Arcane Gauntlets.
- Powers are typically Mythic rarity, however there are a few exceptions.
- In Marvel Takeover and Marvel Standoff, the powers are actually of differing rarities, such as Rare, Epic, or Legendary.
- In Chapter 4: Season 3, Cloak Gauntlets were added to Battle Royale and Creative in Epic rarity
- The only Marvel character in the Chapter 2 - Season 4 Battle Pass to not get an associated Mythic ability was Mystique. An Unreleased Weapon named Mystique's Dual Machine Pistols were leaked, but never appeared in the game. They were likely cut due to them not following the same trend of Powers, as they would have been a regular Weapon instead of an ability.
- These pistols would’ve likely make Mystique a boss on the Map. These would have also been the second Mythic dual-wielding Weapons (the first being Deadpool's Dual Hand Cannons.)
- For an unknown reason, Thor's Mjolnir Strike and Storm's Whirlwind Blast were referred to as a consumable when viewed in the inventory, while no other Powers were.
- This was likely a mistake by Epic Developers.
- The Carnage Symbiote and the Venom Symbiote are the first Powers to have the exact same abilities.
- They are upgraded versions of Venom’s Smash & Grab.
- The Carnage Symbiote and the Venom Symbiote are not referred to as Powers, with no item classification whatsoever. The same applies to Spider-Man's Web Shooters and Kamehameha.
