The Pro Fishing Rod is a Ranged Consumable item that players can use in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 4.

Functionality[]

The Pro Fishing Rod functions identically to the Regular Fishing Rod, in that it is used mainly to fish. The only major difference is that the Pro Fishing Rod is used to catch higher rarity fish, or loot in general.

The Pro Fishing Rod deals no damage and can be used an unlimited amount of times.

The Pro Fishing Rod can be used to deal damage to an enemy player by pulling them off a high structure, or be used to pull a knocked opponent close to you to easier obtain their loot. However this is very impractical.
The Pro Fishing Rod can be used to obtain ammo or healing if you have some downtime in a match, however, you are very vulnerable when doing so.

The Fishing Rod is referred to as Flopping Rabbit High Tier in the files.

Chapter 2: Season 4[]

Update v14.00: Added the Pro Fishing Rod. It can be obtained the same ways as a Fishing Rod, or it can be upgraded into by upgrading a Fishing Rod.

Chapter 2: Season 6[]

Update v16.40: Added the Pro Fishing Rod to Creative.

Chapter 2: Season 7[]

Update v17.10: Added a new version exclusive to Creative that supports fishing in fishing zones outside of water. Doesn't affect Battle Royale.
- The Battle Royale version was removed from the Creative Inventory.

Chapter 4: Season 1[]

Update v23.00: Vaulted the Pro Fishing Rod.

Chapter 5: Season 2[]

Update v29.20 Unvaulted the Pro Fishing Rod.
- It can be bought for 30 Gold from Charon. Although, it has no loot table. This causes the item to not be functional.
Update v29.40: Vaulted the Pro Fishing Rod.
- Charon now sells a Fishing Rod instead.
