The Proximity Mine is an Explosive Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 2.
Functionality[]
The Proximity Mine, once thrown will stick to a surface or vehicle. Once an opponent walks close to the mine, or it is attacked or exploded by another explosive, it will launch up and detonate, dealing damage in a small radius. The mine can be physically moved whilst in the air, by hitting it with a harvesting tool, before it detonates. Damaging an enemy with the Proximity Mine will cause them to be marked and show their location.

- These mines are known primarily because of the Call of Duty series, and their incarnations of the Bouncing Betty which behaves the same way).
