The Ranger Assault Rifle is an Assault Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that was introduced in Chapter 3: Season 1.
Functionality[]
The Ranger Assault Rifle is an accurate, slow firing, fully automatic rifle which deals a medium amount of damage.
The Ranger Assault Rifle is a hitscan weapon, with First Shot Accuracy enabled.
Damage falloff:
- Damage falloff begins at 50 meters (10 tiles).
- Damage decreases down to 95% of its maximum at 75 meters (15 tiles).
- Damage reaches its minimum value of 90% of its maximum at 90 meters (18 tiles).

- The Ranger Assault Rifle is most effective for medium to long range with its slow, yet reliable fire rate, accuracy, and respectable damage.
- While closer to your target the Ranger Assault Rifle can still be effective, its more helpful to bring an SMG when a situation like such may occur.
- At longer ranges, try to tap fire the Ranger Assault Rifle to control the spread of the weapon. Crouching further increases the accuracy.

Trivia[]
- The Ranger Assault Rifle resembles the real-world Russian AK-12.
- Stats for a Legendary Ranger Assault Rifle with an additional 50 rounds were found in the files for the Collision Live Event along with the Epic Seven Scar wielded by the players. Its intended use was unknown.
- The Ranger Assault Rifle was one of the two weapons introduced in Chapter 3 to have never been vaulted during its chapter, the other being the Sidearm Pistol.
- The Mythic rarity was exclusive to creative until the January 7th 2025 Hotfix in Chapter 6: Season 1.
