The Reality Sapling is a Game Mechanic in Fortnite: Battle Royale introduced in Chapter 3: Season 3.
Functionality[]
The Reality Sapling is a unique mechanic which persists beyond the current match, similar to a Tent.
Each player owns one Reality Sapling, which they can plant using a Reality Seed. Once placed, the sapling stays in the same spot during all games until another Reality Seed is placed by the player. Reality Saplings bear fruits of a certain rarity that, once picked, drop loot including a Weapon of that Rarity, Healing Items and Bars. Reality Saplings are also surrounded by three Slurp Mushrooms which can be consumed or harvested by the player.
Reality Sapling's fruits can be upgraded by 'weeding' the plant at least once every 24 real world hours. This is achieved by interacting with three weeds around your plant. Other players can also weed your plant for you. Fruits upgrade incrementally from Uncommon to Mythic rarity. After upgrading to Mythic rarity, picking the fruit destroys the sapling, requiring the player to plant another, restarting them to Uncommon rarity. As such, players can refuse to weed their plant at a certain rarity to maintain said rarity every match.
Reality Saplings spawn less fruit as the rarity increases, with Uncommon & Rare spawning three fruit, Epic spawning two and Legendary & Mythic spawning one.
Loot Table[]
The Reality Sapling will drop a variety of Weapons, Healing Items and Bars. The weapon rarity corresponds with the rarity of the fruit.

Strategy Guide[]

This section outlines a strategy. |
| Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- Although Mythic items are powerful, consider not weeding your Legendary sapling, as you will get a Legendary weapon each match instead of one Mythic, which resets to Uncommon after picking.

Trivia[]
- Reality Saplings will be marked if the player approaches them late game and hasn't harvested their fruit.
- Reality Sapling progress has its own section on the map screen, telling players when they can weed their plant.
- Unlike Tents, the players listed on Reality Saplings are real players in your match which can be encountered. If the player leaves or is eliminated, their name and outfit still appear.
- Players can throw Chug Splash at a Reality Sapling to regrow the fruit on the sapling.
- If a Reality Sapling is placed where a prop would spawn, the sapling takes priority in the next game.
- Other players can weed your sapling, as well as take your fruit.
- They cannot take Mythic fruit however.
- Despite there being a Mythic Combat SMG, Auto Shotgun, Heavy Sniper Rifle, Striker Pump Shotgun, Ranger Assault Rifle, Charge SMG and Striker Burst Rifle, none of these can be found via Reality Saplings.
- There are reasons for this being the case. Firstly, loot is dependant on biome, and since there are not as many biomes as there are weapons, not every weapon can be included through this method.
