Refundable Items

When a Cosmetic Item is altered in Fortnite: Battle Royale, the item is offered for refund to any player that bought it prior to the change. As players purchased the item with, a specific use in mind, any changes to it offer a free refund without using a Refund Ticket.

Sometimes a cosmetic item is altered by the developers due to an issue, or unintended addition to the item. As such, players who purchased the item can refund it free of charge, to get the exact amount of V-Bucks back. Players have 30 days to refund an item free of charge.

Sometimes items also also priced differently, and players will be refunded the difference in price.

Furthermore, some items can be removed from sale, and as such are forcibly refunded.

T-800	Outfit	1,500 V-Bucks	January 22nd 2021	The blog for the Future War Set said that the Cyberdyne Salute was a built-in emote, however this was not the case in game.
Boundless Set Cosmetics	Outfits	1,800 V-Bucks each	February 2nd 2021	Outfits originally had the ability to use black on black for the two color types. This was removed due to balancing issues and a refund was offered.
NFL Outfits	Outfits	1,500 V-Bucks	October 13th 2020	The Washington Redskins changed their name and logo to Washington Football team, requiring the outfit to be updated.
Dragacorn	Glider	1,500 V-Bucks	May 20th 2020	The glider had a deploying animation which made it difficult for users to be shot when gliding. As such, the gliding animation was altered and the glider was made refundable.
Plastic Patroller	Outfit	800 V-Bucks	August 14th 2019	Both, Outfits were originally a much more matte and darker green, which caused issues with players using the outfits to hide in the environment better. The outfits were changed to a new palette and made refundable.

Hearty	Wrap	500 V-Bucks	February 14th 2022	This wrap could have been obtained by completing The Stoneheart Trials, and was refunded if a player previously bought it and completed the challenges.
Kurama	Glider	1,200 V-Bucks	November 22nd 2021	This glider could have been obtained by completing The Nindo Challenges, and was refunded if a player previously bought it and completed the challenges.
Sing Along	Emote	200 V-Bucks	December 18th 2020	This emote was made free 8 days after release. It was refunded if a player previously bought it.
Metal Team Leader Pack	Pack	$15.99	July 5th 2020	Players who bought the pack despite owning the Save the World Ultimate Edition were refunded the full price due to being offered it for free.
Arcana	Glider	1,200 V-Bucks	May 5th 2019	This glider was given to all players logged in shortly after with, The Unvaulting Event due to issues with, the event itself. It was refunded if a player previously bought it.
Forced Refunds
Wild	Lobby Music	200 V-Bucks	March 22nd 2021	This music pack was accidently put into the Item Shop despite being a Battle Pass cosmetic. It was refunded for all players and removed from their inventories, but only if it had been purchased from the Item Shop.
Gunner	Back Bling	1,000 V-Bucks	August 15th 2019	The pet was offered to players in the Item Shop, but players identified it looked very similar to Bonesy from the Battle Pass. As such, Gunner was removed from the Item Shop and all players gained a refund, with the cosmetic being removed from all player inventories.
Swim Free (Jam Track)	Jam Track	500 V-Bucks	August 2nd 2024	This Jam Track was accidently put into the Item Shop despite being a Battle Pass cosmetic. It was refunded for all players and removed from their inventories, but only if it had been purchased from the Item Shop.
