— Fortnite

Remix: The Prelude was a Live Event in Fortnite: Battle Royale that started at November 1st, 2024, at 6:30 PM ET.

Remix: The Prelude was the concluding Live Event for Chapter 5: Season 4.

Overview[]

Remix: The Prelude was held at Restored Reels. In the buildup, the screen had been beamed by the nearby Rift Beacon (which was removed prior to the event) and a turntable.

During the event, a Rift Butterfly appeared as the surrounding area was turned into Times Square in New York City as the screen began broadcasting a live feed of the real life Times Square. The Rift Butterfly then flew into the real world Times Square and flew across its numerous electronic displays before landing on the stage. Ice Spice walked on stage to perform two of her hits, after which Snoop Dogg arrived to perform a medley of his greatest hits, including the premiere of a song from his upcoming album Missionary. After performing "Drop It Like It's Hot", Snoop Dogg pulled out a vinyl and placed it on top of the turntable, which then appeared in-game. The vinyl produced a graffiti-stylized sky beam towards a butterfly-shaped rift. Following "The Next Episode", the Rift Butterfly returned to the in-game world and produced a blinding light, which transitioned into the trailer for Chapter 2 Remix.

Set List[]

Ice Spice:

Snoop Dogg:

  • "Who Am I (What's My Name)?"
  • "Deep Cover" (with elements of "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted")
  • "Gorgeous"
  • "Drop It Like It's Hot" (with elements of "The Next Episode")
  • "The Next Episode"

Trivia[]

  • Remix: The Prelude is codenamed "Kiln".
  • This event takes place a day earlier than live events of its scale are in its respective regions usually do, for example, in western servers it's on a Friday, whereas it’s normally on a Saturday.
  • The bulk of the event was tied to the New York City event at the same time with Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice.
  • The countdown for the event in the lobby had misleading times before the event, possibly due to it having to line up with New York’s time zone.
  • The Battle Royale or Zero Build lobby players would load in to would split the 100 (or as many players as were in the match) into groups of about 10 to 15 and load them into their own Restored Reels.
  • Per community request, a safe-zone was created around Restored Reels to prevent people inside the safe-zone from taking damage.
  • When entering the safe-zone, the number of Bars the player had was set to 0 until they left the safe-zone, where the game returned the exact of the Bars the player had in possession before entering the save-zone. This caused a glitch where repeatedly entering and leaving the safe-zone would cause the Bars the player regained from leaving the safe-zone to count towards the Collect or Spend Bars Milestone Quest for that season.
  • Two notable things occurred in the Battle Royale or Zero Build match after the event:
    • The Graffiti Skies remained throughout the match.
    • The Storm would not deal any damage to players.
  • Getting close to the DJ Table would play music that samples the Chapter 2: Season 2 Threatened Boss Layer for fighting the Bosses present during the season.
