The Semi-Auto Pistol is a Pistol in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that was added in the Pre-Season alongside the Battle Royale game mode.
Functionality[]
The Semi-Auto Pistol is a semi-automatic, high fire-rate cap, any range weapon, but it excels at close to medium range combat. The Semi-Auto Pistol has first shot accuracy, meaning it is capable of consistent damage at longer ranges.

Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.- The Semi-Auto Pistol is more deadly the faster you can fire it. If you have good trigger finger, the pistol will have a DPS almost on par with the Assault Rifle.
- Landing headshots is very beneficial with this weapon. At a decent fire-rate and mixing in headshots gives the Semi-Auto Pistol a higher DPS than the Assault Rifle.
- The Epic and Legendary Semi-Auto Pistol can be used as an assault rifle. As it has very good accuracy and almost the same DPS as the Assault Rifle, it is useful at mid to long range, but also useable in close range scenarios.
- Even though the Semi-Auto Pistol has a slightly lower DPS than most of the SMGs, it can still be beneficial due to better range, higher damage, speedier reload times, first shot accuracy, and a higher headshot multiplier.

- Prior to Chapter 2: Season 6, the Pistol held the record alongside the Assault Rifle for the only weapon in Battle Royale to never be fully vaulted. This was broken however, with the full vaulting of the weapon with the launch of Chapter 2: Season 6.
- Picking up a Common Pistol in Chapter 2: Season 1 grants the Legacy Achievement Desperate Times.
Visuals[]
- The Common, Uncommon, and Rare Pistol is based on the American Colt M1911 with altered iron sights.
- The real life Colt M1911 has an unmodified magazine size of 7 or 8 rounds, making the 16 round magazine of the Pistol impossible for the size of its magazine.
- The weapon also has an incorrectly modeled trigger, as the real M1911 does not have the standard curved trigger of most weapons, but uses a sliding mechanism to fire the weapon.
- The Chapter 1 version of the Pistol used comically large and stylized iron sights for the pistol, much larger than they would be in real life. These sights were scaled down for the Chapter 2 version of the gun. The size of the end of the barrel was also reduced for its remodel.
- The Pistol's slide is much more open than a traditional M1911, making it appear like a Beretta-style pistol despite all the M1911 design elements.
- The Common, Uncommon, and Rare Pistol shares its model with the Vigilante from Fortnite: Save the World.
- The Epic and Legendary Pistol is based on a Staccatto XL 2011 , which is based upon the M1911 itself.
- Alongside the Heavy Assault Rifle, the pistol is one of the few weapons to have its High Tier version be an actual upgraded version of the low tier one, rather than a different weapon entirely.
