Sentry Turrets are a type of Sentry in Fortnite. They were introduced in Chapter 2: Season 2.
Functionality[]
Sentry Turrets are typically found inside faction bases. They are stationary cannons that scan the surrounding area with a red beam which alerts the Turret when a player is detected. This causes the Sentry Turret to glow red and continuously fire shots with perfect accuracy until it overheats. Once the player is out of its line of sight, the Sentry Turret will revert to idle and continue to scan the area.

This section outlines a strategy. |
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- Sentry Turrets can rotate a full 360°, although they have a slow rotation speed. This can be easy to exploit if the player is crouching and moving behind where its currently facing.
- Sentry Turrets have a high amount of health. But are especially weak against Explosive Weapons.
- They can be pickaxed, but doing so will cause the turret to detect the player.
- Destroying the hatch they are mounted on is the easiest way to destroy the turrets.
- All turrets at a location can be deactivated by destroying a location's Defensive Power Generator during Chapter 2.
- They can also be temporarily stopped by placing a building piece over them as they cannot see through walls.
Trivia[]
- By glitching through Brutus' Basin walls during Chapter 2: Season 3, a turret can be found functioning inside the flooded basin. It was eventually removed during Operation: Sky Fire.
