The Shockwave Launcher is an Explosive Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Chapter 2: Season 8.
Shockwave Launcher has a Mythic called Kit's Shockwave Launcher and an Exotic variant called the Eradicator Shock n' Slow Shockwave Launcher.
Functionality[]
The Shockwave Launcher launches Shockwave Grenades which deal no damage to players, but can launch teammates, opponents, and vehicles away from the weapon's projectiles. The Grenades stick to surfaces and detonate shortly after impact.
The Shockwave Launcher fires a slow moving projectile, which is affected by gravity.

- The Shockwave Launcher is best used as mobility, due to the Shockwave effect its grenades have.
- The Shockwave Launcher can be used, in certain situations, to push opponents into the Storm, and can even push a full squad into the Storm, provided you use one grenade per opponent.
- Another useful application of the Shockwave Launcher is to launch downed teammates away from a fight, or to push them to safety from the Storm.
Counters[]
- The Shockwave Launcher, due to its ammo type being Explosive Ammo, can run dry really quickly, compared to Shockwave Grenades, which can easily be found all over the map.
- Because the Shockwave Launcher requires a very slow reload every 4 shots, rushing an opponent as they attempt to reload and escape can be very beneficial.

Trivia[]
- Although very similar to the Grenade Launcher design wise, the Shockwave Launcher uses a different angle for its render, as well as a white paintjob with purple elements to it, and glowing grenade cylinders.
- The Shockwave Launcher was accidentally added prior to being chosen, alongside the Rift-to-Go.
- The Shockwave Launcher is the first item to have a retroactive Mythic upgrade. Kit's Shockwave Launcher was added 5 seasons prior in Chapter 2: Season 3, which is what the Shockwave Launcher is based off of.
