The Sideways Rifle is an Assault Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was added in Chapter 2: Season 8.

Functionality

The Sideways Rifle is a fully automatic, fast firing, medium to long ranged weapon. It has first shot accuracy enabling longer ranged engagements. The Sideways Rifle does not have a magazine size, and works on a cooldown system. Firing the weapon for too long will cause it overheat, and the player must wait a short time before using it again. When the weapon is close to overheating, the damage multiplies by 1.5. The player can fire 10 bullets continuously before it overheats.

Sideways Rifles range from dealing 29 damage per shot to 38 damage per shot (101.5 - 133 damage per second) before overheating. When overheated, Sideways Rifles deal from 43 to 57 damage per shot (150.5 - 199.5 damage per second).
