Sniper Glare is a mechanic that was introduced in Chapter 4: Season 2. It also had reworks in Chapter 5: Season 1, such as allowing Weapon Mods to enable/disable the Sniper Glare.
Overview[]
Sniper Glare creates a large, visible white glare when a player is aiming down the scope of a Sniper Rifle or a weapon with the Sniper Optic weapon mod. This can be seen by players from far away, alerting them to an incoming sniper rifle shot. In chapter 5 season 1/2 any weapon that has a 4x/Sniper Optic even if it is not a sniper will have glare.
Strategy Guide[]
- Since C5S1, sniper glare comes with the Sniper Optic, meaning that Assault Rifles, DMRs and the Hand Cannon may also have it. Figure out what weapon your opponent is using exactly before panicking.
- The sniper glare is highly visible regardless of time, biome, direction of sunlight and distance. Try not to use your Sniper Optic as a telescope for long.
- If one wants to prevent sniper glare while using a sniper rifle, a Thermal (C5S2) or P2X (C5S1) Optic is their next best alternative.
- Pair with a Suppressor for best concealment.

Trivia[]
- Although not a sniper rifle, the Lock On Pistol also features a glare when aiming, though it has a more bluish glare.
