Spawn Drones (aka Lobby Drones or Death Drones) are special drones in Fortnite.

Save the World[]

In Save the World, Spawn Drones are used to instantly transport rescued Survivors to Homebase. Commanders are also brought back to Homebase via the Spawn Drone once their mission is finished. It is also used to revive commanders who are knocked down on the spot or to transport them back to the initial spawn point if they have fallen, also reviving them in the process.

Battle Royale / Creative[]

In Battle Royale, Spawn Drones teleport Loopers to Spawn Island, where they wait for the Battle Bus to launch and send them to the Battle Royale island. During a Battle Royale match, Spawn Drones pick up bodies of eliminated Loopers. In games where respawning is enabled (such as in Creative or Team Rumble), Spawn Drones are used to respawn the Looper to a different location or in the air.

Spawn Drones appear in the Battle Royale Lobby if the player changes the Outfit or other players joining or leaving the party.

During Fortnitemares 2020: Midas' Revenge, Spawn Drones would glitch, fly up really high, and spawn the eliminated player as a Shadow.

Fortnite Festival[]

In Fortnite Festival, Spawn Drones will teleport the player's character to and from either the Main Stage or Jam Stage, though exiting the stages is currently bugged and will show a defeat animation to players still there.

Trivia[]

  • The Reboot Van has the antennas of a Spawn Drone on its back.
  • When the Spawn Drone appears in Battle Royale, the character model turns light blue and break into small cubes as the Drone picks up the character. This does not happen in Save the World, where the character retains its full form.
  • One of the files in Retrieve the Data missions is labeled "evacdrone.vtec".
