Super Showdown was a Major Live Event in Chapter 6: Season 3 that was the direct continuation of The Fall of Supernova Academy Quests.

Build-up[]

Daigo, having been turned into a demon after following a failed attempt to infiltrate the Spirit Realm, returns to Oninoshima to wreak havoc across the Island by draining it of its energy with Spires. In response, Superman joined Hope and Jones to establish the Supernova Academy in order to train and develop a group of young super-powered individuals, so that they would become true superheroes. They had hoped to defeat Daigo and save him from his demonic corruption while also retrieving the Zero Point Shard that was located within the Spirit Realm and contain it in the Vault, with the help of Midas.

However, Daigo launched a surprise attack on the Supernova Academy, forcing the staff and students to evacuate and abandon the facility. Morgan Myst, Hope's apprentice who was named as the leader of the team, makes efforts to elevate team morale as Hope and Jones plan to retaliate against Daigo and recover the Shard at any expense.

Pre-Event Training[]

Before the event, players could eliminate each other within the safe zone in Demon's Domain and respawn after 20 seconds or destroy training dummies around the POI. Eliminating a player would grant 25 points and destroying a training dummy would grant 5 points. This score would make them eligible for a buff during the event. The top 3 players with the most points would get different buffs during the event, with it increasing the higher they are on the leaderboard. All players would also regen 20 Light Bullets, Medium Bullets, and Heavy Bullets every 5 seconds.

1st Place - 100% faster attack speed, 50% faster reload time, move 20% faster, and jump 30% higher. They will also gain a red glow.
2nd Place - 66% faster attack speed, 33% faster reload time, move 13.2% faster, and jump 20% higher. They will also gain an orange glow.
3rd Place - 33% faster attack speed, 16.5% faster reload time, move 6.6% faster, and jump 10% higher. They will also gain a yellow glow.

Training Targets drop one weapon with the ammo they use and a consumable. The loot lasts for 20 seconds while on the ground before despawning.

Prelude[]

Serve the Master - Super Showdown - Fortnite

Once the timer reached the end, the Spirit Realm Portal under Demon's Domain activated with Daigo emerging from it and floating to the front of the temple. Absorbing the energy of all four Spires in the surrounding area and growing in size, he fired a powerful concentration of cursed energy into the portal, supercharging it while destroying the entire temple and portal frame in the process. The immense energy caused the portal to grow big enough without a frame to allow a colossal kraken monster of the Dark Presence to rise onto the island, discarding Daigo as he bowed to it after summoning his master by flinging him into the mountains nearby.

Enter The Supernovas![]

With the Dark Presence having taken form, The Supernovas enter the scene one by one. Killswitch, Lightrider and Morgan Myst taking Formation Tau, and Synthwave, Ziggy, and Haylee Skye taking Formation Theta. The superheroes land onto the scene and get ready for battle.

And thus, it begins.

Boss Battle[]

For the duration of the event, the primary heroes of The Supernovas will appear battling the Dark Presence at the front of where Demon's Domain's temple once stood. With a gigantic healthpool and massive Damage Reduction applied to all players towards each other within the arena, all participants must work together to repel the Dark Presence.

As the battle goes on, members of The Supernovas will assist the players and deal massive damage to the Dark Presence.

At 80%, Synthwave will unleash a powerful soundblast. Damaging the monster tentacle down to 67%.
At 60%, Killswitch will fire a fast volley of bullets. Damaging the monster tentacle down to 45%.
At 30%, Morgan Myst will encircle the tentacle with a large swarm of shadow ravens. Damaging the monster tentacle down to 10%.

After the last attack the Dark Presence tentacle will retreat back into the portal.

Postlude[]

Despite the Dark Presence having been repelled and the portal closed, the battle has not been finished. As the portal suddenly opens back up, the kraken tentacle re-emerges with its health fully replenished and accompanied by two other tentacles, each with its own healthbar. The tentacles blast The Supernovas and players into the air restricted from their powers and weaponry and begin to charge one final energybomb to eliminate the opposition.

But right before it could hurl the overcharged energybomb into the arena, the first tentacle gets decapitated from its body by Superman, having arrived just in time to save everyone. Quickly dispatching the last remaining tentacles, he shifts his attention to destroying the four surrounding Spires to drain the dark energy surrounding Demon's Domain. Finally clearing the skies above and taking his leave by shooting into the sky.

With the battle over, the Damage Reduction towards Players was lifted immediately as The Supernovas despawn in the sky.

Trivia[]

The Live Event's codename is "PistolCanary".
Super Showdown was announced at the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con.
- It was also announced that Superman will be featured in the Live Event.
For some unknown reason, Lightrider is not in the Keyart.
During and after Super Showdown, Battle Royale's ESRB content rating was modified to include Animated Blood.
Due to the massive lag spike during the pre-event.
- Some players gained permanent invincibility, The only thing capable of killing them is fall damage.
- Some Replay files were corrupted.
Morgan Myst and Killswitch used the same banters of Captain Jones and Gwenpool from Absolute Doom Event respectively.
Despite being vaulted during this season in gameplay, the Hammer Assault Rifle was seen unvaulted in the video from the official Fortnite YouTube channel for some unknown reason.
Though it is impossible to view, Daigo's face is animated when he is absorbing the energy from the Spires surrounding Demon's Domain.
