Survive the Horde is a Limited Time Mode in Fortnite: Save the World, available during the Scurvy Shoals Venture Season.

Overview[]
Riggs has sent the Commander and their squad to a mining expedition to gather supplies, but this mining expedition is overrun by the Storm. While traversing the volcanic island, players have to survive grueling waves of husks and defend their resource bases.
In Survive the Horde, players find themselves far beyond the Storm Shield, at an old mining operation on a volcanic island. The approaching Storm has fractured the island, forcing them to navigate deep fissures filled with lava while traversing the terrain.
Structure[]
Players must defend three resource bases out of the four available: Mine, Cavern, Depot, and Volcano, which are randomly selected at the start of the mission.
Bases[]
Players are required to defend each of the three resource bases. If one resource base falls, players will receive fewer Supply Drops, and if all three are lost, the mission will fail. It's crucial to use resources and the time between waves wisely.
Waves[]
11 of the 15 Waves are based on Husk eliminations, with the required number increasing with each wave.
3 Waves require players to locate and destroy multiple Pillars that have appeared around the base.
Horde Waves are present, bringing a strong enemy type in large numbers, and gameplay modifiers appear at the start of each wave to change up the action. If a player is reduced to 0 Health, their allies have only a short window to revive them. If the entire team goes down, the mission will fail.
In the final wave, lasting five minutes, the Storm unleashes everything it has at the players, including Smashers, Flingers, Lobbers, Sploders, and even Mini-Bosses!
As wave difficulty increases, players will also have less time between waves to prepare.

Loot[]
Breaking down objects with Pickaxes won't yield any resources, so players must rely on the Supply Drops that appear between each enemy wave. These Supply Drops provide weapons, ammo, and ingredients, meaning players must survive using these limited supplies alone.
Difficulty[]
Survive the Horde features multiple difficulty tiers. Upon completing a tier, the next level of difficulty unlocks, up until Tier 5 max.
As they progress through these challenges, they can unlock new Banner Icons and Sprays.

- April 4th 2024: Survive the Horde has returned with new updates.
- A new base has appeared at the Volcano. The amount of objectives that need to be defended remains the same, at 3. At the start of each game, 3 of the 4 bases are picked at random.
- Amount of Pillar Waves has been reduced to 3.
- Wave 3: 10 Pillars
- Wave 11: 17 Pillars
- Wave 15: 28 Pillars
- The terrain and spawns at the previous bases has been adjusted, making block-offs harder and providing a challenge.
- New waves, modifiers and weekly schedule have been added.
- As the mission progresses, there will be less time between each wave for players to prepare.
- Difficulty Tiers have been added, up until Tier 5. Unlocking these rewards players with Banners and Sprays.
