The Apparatus was a Landmark in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that was added in Chapter 4: Season 3 to the island Asteria. The Apparatus was a stellar projector on an ancient temple built by The Ancients.

Lore[]

The Apparatus is what lies below Hidden Henge. It is a stellar projector created by The Ancients on the top of the temple ruins. Trace and his crew from The Luminaries have taken interest in this location. Doctor Slone believes it will be a key to her plans for the Island and Optimus Prime is actively encouraging everyone to study the void between the stars.

The Apparatus uses refined/reflective Kinetic Ore Prisms to manipulate light. Once activated, it will beam a large stellar map with constellations onto the sky. Eons ago, The Ancients used The Apparatus to predict the "The Eclipse" before its arrival. Now that they know Kado Thorne is coming for them, they quickly flee from their home.
