The Cube Sinking was a Live Event that happened on September 28, 2025, during Fortnite OG Season 5.
Buildup[]
Cacti were struck from the Sideways Rift's mysterious red lighting. Then, a final strike hit the rock, destroying it and summoning Revin the Cube. After a day of being stationary, the red cube began to move, with it making its way towards the outskirts of Fatal Fields. When the Cube made it there, it stopped, as a mysterious high-speed dome appeared surrounding the spot. When the cube began to move again, the dome stayed, with a mysterious rune in the place the cube once was. It then continued its journey, placing runes near other locations like Greasy Grove, Salty Springs, Retail Row, Wailing Woods, Lazy Links, and Pleasant Park.
Event[]
The cube does one final roll straight into Loot Lake, causing it to melt into the waters of the lake until everything turned red. After the cube fully melted, everything went silent, until a bouncy red layer had formed on top of the lake. Bouncing on Loot Lake now grants the pepper effect.
Trivia[]
- Unlike the Chapter 1 counterpart of this event, this version is announced by Epic, confirming the event location is Loot Lake.
- The color of the lake also turns red instead of purple.

The Cube Sinking was an Event that happened in Season 5 on September 19th leading up to Season 6 and the rise of the Floating Island.
The Event[]
After the Cube appeared in the Island through the Crack in the Sky, it started moving around the Island creating runes and Low Gravity Areas, until it reached Loot Lake, where it moved into the lake and melted into it, causing it to become purple and bouncy and making the middle island in Loot Lake to start rumbling.
