- — In-Game Description
The End was a Live Event in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was the concluding Live Event for Season X and Chapter 1 in its entirety.
Buildup[]
In week 2 of Season X, The Scientist builds Rift Beacons at Dusty Depot and places them at several locations on the island one at a time, which results in those areas where the beacons were present to change into alternate reality counterparts. As this was going on The Zero Point was further destabilizing until week 7 where The Scientist would stop making Rift Beacons and starts creating the rocket seen in Blast Off, and he finishes it in week 9.
Event Summary[]
The Scientist launches the rocket in the gray warehouse at Dusty Depot and moments after it launches the rocket's boosters on the side of it activate causing the rocket to go through a rift which causes a massive crack to appear momentarily before it disappears. Shortly after this, the Rift Zone rift above Greasy Grove began glowing brightly before a rocket flies out of it and flew past Dusty Depot before going into another rift over Lonely Lodge. This then caused 6 other rockets to fly out of rifts above other Rift Zones and fly around the island before all going into one rift close to the meteor. The Seven rockets then repeatedly fly in front of The Meteor, which causes it to unfreeze and go into the rift with the rockets. Moments later, a rift appears above Loot Lake and a rocket comes out aiming directly towards The Zero Point. It then flies into it, causing a massive shockwave that causes the player to be float away before a larger rift appears above Loot Lake, with the meteor and the other rockets guiding it towards The Zero Point as its Rift Zone begins expanding. As the meteor reaches the Rift Zone, the other rockets fly to safety while the meteor collides with The Zero Point, causing it to explode. Moments later, The Zero Point begins to contain itself, causing the player alongside the island to be sucked into it.
In the aftermath The Nothing appears. Over time, it was possible to see numbers appear which were: 11, 146, 15, 62, 87, 14, 106, 2, 150, 69, 146, 15, 36, 2, 176, 8, 160, and 65. If put into comparison by the number with words, you get: "I was not alone. Others were outside the loop. This was not calculated. | The Nothing is now inevitable". It was also possible to enter the Konami code "UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B/CIRCLE A/X ENTER/MENU/OPTIONS/PLUGS). If done correctly, you could play the mini-game that replicated the arcade game that Peely and Jonesy were seen playing during the Season 9 trailer. It was also possible to play the mini-game during Fortnite World Cup livestreams that were present in-game. During this downtime, you could not play Save The World or Fortnite: Creative. If you attempted to play either mode, you could hear Ray telling you: "OK, Commander! I have a plan, do not worry I will fix this. I will fix everything... not that anything is wrong!" This indicated that the Reality Save the World takes place in wasn't affected and that she is safe.
Shortly before the event concluded, all Fortnite social medias run by Epic Games were all blacked out with all their posts being hidden/removed. There was only one post titled "..." with a livestream of The Nothing (the blackhole).
On October 15th 2019, the event ended after The Zero Point restabilized, which caused the Athena island to be reorganized in Reality Zero. During this reorganization two islands; Apollo and Artemis were created. This marked the beginning of Chapter 2 with Chapter 2: Season 1 on Apollo island.

Trivia[]
- This event led to the new map and was hinted by the Week 10 loading screen, where different Outfits wave goodbye to the Battle Bus as it flew off.
- This is the first live event to take place on a Sunday, the next was Operation: Sky Fire, followed by The Chapter 2 Finale. All three of these events led to an extended downtime.
- This live event is the longest of all the events, lasting a total of over 2 days.
- This event is the first of five events where the main game is temporarily rendered unplayable (other than being able to log in and experience the collapse of the world again), with the other events being the The Devourer of Worlds, Operation: Sky Fire, The Chapter 2 Finale and Collision.
- Not only was this the first event to lock players out of the game, but it was also for the longest time, a total of 36 hours from October 13th to 15th, 2019.
- During the start of Chapter 2 - Season 1, for players who purchased the Season X Battle Pass, the new spray showcasing the meteor hitting Loot Lake, was given to them. The spray was nicknamed the Comet.
- The sounds inside of the black hole apparently included the Cube, the Ice King, The Devourer, and Mecha.
- When you use the numbers for the hole and use it on Google Maps, it takes you to Christmas Island.
- Following the end of the event, and the formation of the black hole, Fortnite blacked out their entire social media, changing icons and headers to either just the color black or the black hole, pausing the subreddit to prevent new posts, and purging all their tweets on Twitter (except for, fittingly, a livestream of the black hole). https://status.epicgames.com had also changed Fortnite's server status to "Anomaly Detected."
- If a player were to log in during the black hole, the lobby would be sucked in as well. Notable easter eggs hidden include the "Error" text shifting to the left, middle, or right (as ErroR) and the actual error message shifting between "We are experiencing" and "Technical Issues" (wherein the text itself is static). The player's V-Bucks amount also shows as "ERROR" and the amount of players decreases from 99 to 0 rapidly as the lobby is getting sucked in. [1]
- The codename for this event in the files was NightNight.
- This is the last Live Event of Chapter 1.
- The End of Chapter 1 is the pre-opening of Chapter 2.
- The music was composed by Phill Boucher
- The music is very similar and is likely inspired by the soundtrack from the movie Interstellar. Specifically, the track named No Time for Caution.
