The Government (also known as by the community as the Unnamed Investigation Agency or U.I.A.) is a mysterious organization on the Island that was first introduced during Season 4. They're known to investigate, excavate and fix anomalies on the Island.
Overview[]
The Government investigates the strange sightings on the Island, such as The Meteor. They set up bases inside Dusty Divot, Loot Lake and numerous dig sites. They uncovered The Vault under Loot Lake, uncovered The Devoured and discovered volcano vents under dig sites.
The Goverment is an organization with an unclear allegiance and intentions. They first appeared to work on their own in Season 4 and later in Season 8, searching the Imagined Order's vault on the Island and started to study it, wishing to understand what it was. However later, during Season 9, they allied themselves with the Imagined Order, as revealed by the Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War comics, where it was stated the Imagined Order built the Mech for The Paradigm, although in reality it was built by the Government (with the help of Singularity, an agent of the Imagined Order). During Chapter 3, The Government did not get involved in the war between the Imagined Order and The Seven, and simply excavated the remains of The Devourer. After the Imagined Order's defeat, they helped in the reconstruction of Tilted Towers.

History[]
Season 4[]
They investigate the meteor sites across the map, and set up a base at Dusty Divot. After a few weeks, The Visitor's pod opens up within the meteorite, allowing him to escape and destroy the Government's equipment, while fleeing to the area they were containing the Hop Rocks. The Visitor keeps to himself for the most part, until he heists the Rocket used for The Government's movie as his own, causing the Blast Off event.
Season 6[]
The Government quietly gathered their resources to undergo an investigation around Rift technology hidden in a base underneath Wailing Woods. After some testing, their research was proving to be a success, connecting their Secret Lab to the cabins surrounding Wailing Woods.
Season 8[]
Their Secret Lab was destroyed or otherwise proved inaccessible from The Fire King's meddling with the area. They begin scouting the Island using their Helicopter for a while until they set up excavation sites around the Island and dug up different things across the map, such as Volcano Vents and fossils. They finally succeed in their mission, discovering and digging up Loot Lake to reveal The Vault. This action leads to a chain reaction, starting with the reveal of The Vault leading to the destruction of Tilted Towers and Retail Row by the hands of The Fire Kingdom.
Season 9[]

With the help of Singularity, guardian of the Imagined Order's Gateway, the Government rebuilds Tilted Towers and Retail Row and takeover the Volcano, turning it into Pressure Plant, their new major research and construction site. After The Devourer breaks out of Polar Peak, another consequence of the Volcano's eruption, the IO were happy to let it destroy everything in The Loop, although were worried that he would harm The Zero Point. The Monster had already attacked places on the Island, including Neo Tilted's power lines from Loot Lake and The Vault. The Paradigm, who was also captured at some point, instead volunteers to pilot a Mech to defeat the Devourer. With the help of the Government, Singularity and her troops start construction of the Mecha Team Leader at Pressure Plant.
The Final Showdown[]

The Devourer rises from the ocean and start heading towards The Vault for a proper attack on The Zero Point. The Mecha Team Leader, piloted by The Paradigm, leaves Pressure Plant and attacks the Devourer, getting the two in a fight. The Devourer rips out Mecha's arm and heavily damages it, but Mecha damages The Vault and pulls The Zero Point out, bringing distance between her and the monster. Paradigm goes for Singularity's statue and pulls it out, revealing a giant sword. The Devourer attacks back but the Mecha strikes the sword in his head, killing The Devourer with no sweat. It flies off into The Ice Moon, leaving the Island for a long while.
Season X[]
By the efforts of The Scientist's Rift Beacons, The Government's locations, Neo Tilted and Mega Mall, change forms into Rift Zones. Tilted first becomes Tilted Town, a Wild West theme, before transforming into Gotham City, while Mega Mall reverts back into Retail Row, now overrun by Cube Monsters.
The End[]
The Seven cause a black hole, erasing the remaining locations of The Government. Now, they'll have to rebuild and start anew.
Chapter 2: Season 1[]
They fix a broken light post on Apollo at Homely Hills.
Chapter 3: Season 1[]
They dig up The Devourer's remains on Artemis and reveal The Devoured.
Chapter 3: Season 2[]
The Paradigm survives her encounter of The Ice Moon through the help of The Seven and Reality: 616, namely Thor and Storm for calming The Ice King's harsh weather conditions. Together, they repair the Mecha, however it is no longer under Government control. With the mecha, The Seven take down the Island Management Team of the Imagined Order.
Chapter 3: Season 3[]
They begin to rebuild Tilted Towers, the road at Reinvigorator Crater and Spawn Island.
Chapter 3: Season 4[]
They open the mineshaft at Grim Gables with their excavators.
Chapter 4: Season 1[]
They clean up the rubble around the connection points of Asteria's biomes.
Chapter 4: Season OG[]
Back into what appears like the past, their facilities at Dusty Divot appeared in Reality: UN-0-C4OG, however, unlike their counterparts from Reality Zero, they didn't execute their plans to search the vault of the Imagined Order.
Reality: UN-0-OG's History[]
Season 4[]
Similarly to the Original Timeline, The Visitor once again arrives on the Island, inside the meteor, causing fragments of it to break off, alongside gravity-defying effects. The whole ordeal causes the Government to investigate Dusty Divot, digging into The Meteor to uncover what was inside. Meanwhile, across the Island, they would patch up rubble from the Meteorite Shower while transporting Hop Rocks on their convoys.
This timeline starts to diverge with this version of Omega, known as Alpha, where he becomes a real supersoldier for The Government, with a full suit of advanced armor to boot. They successfully dig through The Meteor, revealing the pod of The Visitor. He escapes containment, and during the violent escape of The Visitor from Dusty Divot, he and Alpha get into a fight, but the Visitor manages to escape alive and well,[1] ultimately failing to stop him from taking Meteor Fragments and Hop Rocks up to the Villain Lair, utilized to Retrofit The Villains' Rocket to Blast Off.[2]
Season 6[]
Repeating the event of the original timeline, The Government secretly set up a Rift Research Facility underneath Wailing Woods. Initially, only the singular Rift inside of their Testing Chamber was tested and activated, but with passing time, the Portals connecting to Wailing Woods' surrounding cabins activated as well.
Trivia[]
- The name and the nature of the organization has been for a long time a mystery, leading the community to dub them as "The Government" or the "U.I.A".
- However, after many years, in OG Chapter 1 Season 4 Blogpost, the facilities of Dusty Divot has been confirmed as a "government facility", confirming the identity of the organization as such.
- Back in Chapter 2: Season 6, Mari claimed revealed the existence of a Government on the Island,[3] however at this time it was unknown if it was truly referring to the same organization or not.
- Donald Mustard once teased The Government's involvement in the Storyline through his Twitter Locations, those being:
- "Digging trying to find The"
- "X"
- "The Gateway"
- This implies that they knew of The Vault and were trying to find it, putting questions upon their history with the Imagined Order.
- Their logo can be seen on Diecast and Chromium, who aren't members but are actors. Their two other cosmetics, Persuader and Solid Strider, both also have the logo on them.
- One potential name or part of the "Government" is "Vindertech Universal Leader", shown in Season 4's Trailer, whilst Venturion and Ventura's movie characters have a V-Buck Logo, but this is not confirmed otherwise.
- Despite many logos of The Government inside of Frosty Flights, no canonical link between the two factions was officially etablished.
- The initial presence of Government logo on Expedition's assets is probably due to the fact that it is a reused asset from Government's own, since the E.G.O. outposts, which are also reused, have the same problem.
