The Machinist was a neutral Boss introduced during Chapter 5: Season 3. She could have been found in either Redline Rig or a War Bus Convoy.

Behavior[]
The Machinist will not attack the player on sight unless she or a Wasteland Guard are attacked, they block her path for too long, or they aim their weapon at her for too long.
The Machinist patrols the roads of the island inside her personal Lockjaw with a Wasteland Grunt in the second seat while leading a War Bus driven by a Wasteland Elite and Grunts. Her Shields are bolstered while she sits inside her Lockjaw and will not re-enter if she exits the vehicle.
She will not attack the player on sight unless she, a Wasteland Guard, or their vehicles are attacked, they get on the War Bus seats, they block her path for too long, or they aim their weapon at her for too long.
While she drives her Lockjaw all oncoming damage to the vehicle will instead be dealt to her Shields.Special Abilities[]
- Sentry Turret Activation
- Whenever in combat, The Machinist sets down a Sentry Turret near her current location. There can only be one Sentry Turret present at any moment and will expire after a certain amount of time passes.
- Nitro Splash Energize
- When The Machinist's Shield is depleted for the first time she will quickly consume a Nitro Splash. Increasing her movement speed and donning her mask. The Nitro effect is permanently active until she is defeated.

- Added The Machinist as a Boss. She can be found at either Redline Rig or driving with a War Bus Convoy.
Trivia[]
- When breaking obstacles, The Machinist wields the Hydraulic Slammer as her Pickaxe.
- The Machinist, along with the rest of the Wasteland Warriors are the first Bosses since The Foundation that can be aggro'd by simply blocking their patrol path.
- They are also the first Bosses that can be aggro'd by aiming a weapon at them.
- Like with all the other Wasteland Warrior Bosses, The Machinist can be Nitro Energized early without depleting her Shield.
- The Machinist is the only Wasteland Warrior Boss to not have her Ability locked behind being affected by Nitro.
- Though the filenames for her Sentry Turret Activation voicelines suggest this was originally gonna be the case before it was changed in development.

Lore[]
The Machinist was the engineer of the Wasteland Warriors and the current owner of the Redline Rig. She was tasked to build a pipeline for Megalo Don, in order to refuel The Leviathan ship and raze the Island.
She is a supporting antagonist of Fortnite: Battle Royale, serving as is one of the secondary antagonists of Chapter 5: Season 3 alongside Ringmaster Scarr.
