Behavior[]
Phase 1: BATTLE THE NIGHT ROSE![]
The Night Rose can be found inside of the main dojo being strung up by The Puppeteer. In this state she will have 100% damage resistance until approached, where she will wake up and attack the player on sight, immediately getting aggrevated without detection delay. If her current target or they get too far from the arena, she'll warp back to The Puppeteer and continue being strung up.
Night Rose's Shades[]
While The Night Rose is active, her shadow projections, called Night Rose's Shade, will periodically spawn as hostile Guards and stalk players in Demon's Dojo. The Shades can only approach the player while they are outside of direct line of sight. When they get close enough or get attacked, they will use a single swipe of Claw Strikes. Shortly after taking damage or getting provoked out of range, Shades will vanish unless eliminated quickly. Each Shade has
100 Health and will drop Ammunition and Small Shield Potions upon defeat. The Shades will stop spawning once The Night Rose is defeated and any remaining ones will instantly disappear.
On the ground, The Night Rose has
400 Health and will use the following abilities:
- Claw Strikes
- When The Night Rose gets close to the player, she will put away her SMG and furiously swipe at them with her claws up to three times in a sequence. Each swing deals 25 damage.
Phase 2: DEFEAT THE NIGHT ROSE![]
Once The Night Rose's health is depleted, she will be knocked down, but then pulled back in by The Puppeteer shortly after. While strung up by him, The Night Rose will have 100% damage resistance until she is back on her feet.
Weakspots: DESTROY THE EYES![]
- The Puppeteer's eyes will glow brightly while holding up The Night Rose, with
100/
100/
100/
250 Health each. Attacking them enough times will cause them to stop glowing, and destroying both will stun The Puppeteer, thus forcing him to drop The Night Rose. This enables her to attack the player and become vulnerable again. She will be quickly picked up again if she is brought to 50% health or 15 seconds has passed after she is released.
Note: The Night Rose and The Puppeteer constantly teleport around unintentionally in the Replay Client. Causing syncing issues
During the time when The Puppeteer is active, he will use the following abilities:
- Demonic Spirit Warp
- Vanishes and re-appears on another corner of the arena.
- Explosive Screaming Masks
- Fires a slow 3-round burst of Fire Oni Masks that fly towards the target, dealing 20 damage in a small AoE.
History[]
Update v33.00[]
December 1st 2024
- Added The Night Rose as a Boss. She can be found at Demon's Dojo.
December 5th 2024
- Decreased The Puppeteer's Explosive Screaming Masks damage from 35 to 20.
- Reduced the Explosion Radius of The Puppeteer's Explosive Screaming Masks by 50%.
Update v33.10[]
December 10th 2024
- Added a new overhead popup for when The Puppeteer holds up The Night Rose in phase 2.
- This relegates "DEFEAT THE NIGHT ROSE!" to only appear once she is vulnerable.
Update v33.30[]
February 15th 2025
- The Night Rose was freed from The Puppeteer. She no longer spawns as a Boss.
- This transfers all her Boss Loot onto The Night Rose Character.
Trivia[]
- The Night Rose's codename is PuppeteerBoss and FirePetalBosses.
- The Night Rose's size is much larger than other Bosses, being as large as Cube Assassin and Hades.
- The Night Rose's Shade, in comparison to the Boss, are only Slightly Taller, Being shorter than The Night Rose herself, making her and the Demon Lieutenants the first Guards to be Slightly Taller and not be a Boss.
- When breaking obstacles, The Night Rose wields the Rose Thorns as her Pickaxe.
- This Pickaxe choice is shared with the Night Rose's Shade.
- The Night Rose's voicelines frequently have her voice filter absent in certain lines, hinting at her being possessed against her will.
- Scanning The Night Rose's Shade will reveal them using the Player's icon rather than the
Guards' icon. - The Night Rose has Knockback Immunity and is immune to Shockwave Grenades.
- Like Shogun X and Demon Warriors, The Night Rose has a unique red crumbling effect when defeated.
- Eliminating one of The Night Rose's Shades and using Mystique's Shapeshifter Built-In Emote will transform the player into The Night Rose, as the Shades are only projections of her model's mesh and do not use a unique Outfit.
- The Night Rose is able to lose sight of her current target without being strung up by The Puppeteer, to which she will walk back to her spot with her Phase 1 music still playing and remain there until the player makes an action to immediately agitate her AI.

- — Jade
The Night Rose (夜薔薇) is a demon, a teacher of The Supernovas and one of founders[3] of Supernova Academy. She was a fearsome warrior and a former lieutenant of the Demons who came from the Spirit Realm.
She is a major character in Fortnite: Battle Royale, originally serving as a major antagonist of Chapter 6: Season 1, before turning into supporting protagonist of that same season and the next one, and then serving as one of the main protagonist of Chapter 6: Season 3.
Appearance[]
The Night Rose is a young woman with pale skin, short black hair, dead black eyes, dead black lips and two Oni horns. She wears ancient japanese armor with a kimono on top.
Unlike most Demon Warriors, where their faces have turned into a dark, unrecognizable mess, The Night Rose still has remnants of human in her.

Personality[]
The Night Rose is often described by others as a cunning and fearsome demon. This reputation, though not unfounded, particularly during the period when she was under the influence of the Dark Presence, only reflects part of her true nature. Beneath her cold demeanor and sharp tongue, especially toward strangers, lies a person capable of kindness and loyalty. With those she trusts, she can reveal a far warmer and more genuine side.
Her past left deep marks on her character. Before regaining her freedom, she was consumed by a desire for vengeance against her former master, Shogun X, who betrayed her and bound her to his service. After his death at the hands of Daigo, that obsession faded, allowing her to pursue her own path. Later, however, she would come to learn that Shogun X himself had been a victim all along, enslaved by the Dark Presence from the very beginning. This revelation added more complexity to her feelings, transforming her initial hatred into more conflicted feelings.
However, The Night Rose still carries lingering scars from her imprisonment in the Spirit Realm, which she still associates with captivity and fear. These experiences shaped her outlook, giving her both a deep mistrust of her homeworld and a determination to never go back to that "cage" ever.
As a warrior and instructor, she is known for her rigor and discipline, often demanding the utmost effort from her students. Yet behind this strict exterior lies someone plagued by doubt, particularly about her own future. Even so, she remains courageous, choosing to fight for what she believes to be just, even when the odds are against her.

Timeline[]
The Night Rose's Binding[]

The Demon Warriors played a role in the Shattering War - a conflict sparked by the River Guard[4] and Oninoshima's fear of the creation of Masks of Power by the ancestors of Daigo, Jade, and Kendo[5]. The war culminated in Nightshift Forest at a site known as Battle's End, where the Demons were defeated, the Masks of Power were shattered, and magic was banished from the Island as a protective measure.

In the aftermath, the people of Oninoshima united to seal the Demons' portals, cutting off access to the Spirit Realm entirely. The Fox Clan was blamed for the Shattering War incident, as the masks had been crafted by their suppliers.[6]

Within the Spirit Realm, The Night Rose encountered Shogun X and they had a relationship of trust.[7] She trained's his army to make them powerful warriors,[8] but following the Darkness' mind control, Shogun X betrayed her and used a massive Oni Mask known as "The Puppeteer" to string her up and bind her to his service. Since that day, The Night Rose swore to obtain vengeance.
Chapter 6: Season 1[]
After the Zero Shard crashed onto Oninoshima, The Night Rose still controlled, emerged from the one of the Spirit Realm portals and was chased by Kendo and Hope before confronting them with the help of Shogun X. After this incident, she was stationed at the Demon's Dojo alongside The Puppeteer, who manipulates her mercilessly, like a puppet, while the rest of the demons continued to invade the island.

Way later, Kendo directed The Looper to Demon's Dojo to use the Spirit Forge and craft Blades imbued with the Splinters of the comet. However, uncertain about how to harness their power, Kendo suggested seeking assistance from The Night Rose. To gain access to her help, The Looper had to temporarily defeat The Puppeteer.

Once freed, The Night Rose revealed that she was bound by a powerful demon and needed permanent liberation to provide answers regarding the comet and the Spirit Realms. She recognized the potential of the Splinter Blades, judging them strong enough to free both her and Jade. Before departing, she entrusted the Splinter Blades to Daigo.
During Daigo's ritual, her and the mask maker had several discussion, notably about the mysterious presence within the Spirit Realm, the fact that he alone can face them and before the confrontation began, he asked The Night Rose to watch over his siblings for him.
After Shogun X was eliminated by Daigo, The Night Rose was freed from her curse and began considering training new warriors, just as she once did for Shogun X's army before he bound her. However, both she caution The Looper about the golden energy emerging from the portal, warning that it will bring greed, conflict, and chaos.
Kendo ask her how he can repay her, while Jones, for now, chooses to trust her.
Chapter 6: Season 2[]
The Night Rose officially joined the group and began working alongside Jones, searching for information in old books. However, she struggles with loneliness, as her past as a demon and former enemy makes it difficult for others to trust her. She warns The Looper of a growing darkness at the heart of the Island, a threat they may not yet fully understand.
Chapter 6: Season 3[]
Following the sabotage of the Death Star, a wave of Zero Point energy resulting from the collision of a fragment of the Death Star with the Predator Peak Portal affected a group of people in the Battle Bus, granting them superpowers. Around this time, Superman arrived in Reality: 783 and saved the Battle Bus and its passengers from the imminent crash. In light of Daigo reigniting the threat of the Demon Warriors alongside his new lieutenant, Kor, Hope decided to found a superhero academy, leadings to the creation of the Supernovas.
With the help of Midas, Jones and Hope managed to fund the idea of their academy, and became its first teachers. They invited the Night Rose who is also considered as one of the founding member and she became Tactic Teacher. Alongside Hope and Jones she also works on the Vault project at Utopia City.
When The Looper, missioned secretly by Midas, had to talk to their friends, they went went to question Jones, Hope, and the Night Rose about the Spires Daigo was using to harm the Island, using their trust in them to gain all the information they needed. As it turns out, studies breakthroughs on how the Spires operate were completed successfully, however, Hope, Rose and Jones had redacted some of the intel, for they feel as if Midas and his crew may be drawn to misusing their findings.
Trivia[]
- According to The Night Rose, the dark forces of the Spirit Realm tend to underestimate anyone under 700 years old.
