The Swarm (also known as the Bugs and the Onimorphs) are Wildlifes in Battle Royale that were introduced in Chapter 6: Season 4 and can spawn in various locations.
Description[]
The Swarm has 3 distinct types of bugs:
- Swarmers
- Swarmers (also known as Hive Swarmers in Creative) are small hostile onimorphs that appear in various Onimorph controlled locations, primarly spawning from their Nests, either when a player attacks or gets too close to one. They can also be spawned by a Queen and will appear raiding O.X.R. Bases at the start of a match. Swarmers are very fragile and their melee, and only attack, deals 1 damage. However they always spawn in groups of 2 to 4 individuals. If a player is in a place where a Swarmer can't normally reach, they can utilize their wings to reach them. Swarmers have a glowing abdomen, which is also their weakspot. Swarmers primarly drop Ammunition and Healing Items when eliminated.
- Bombers
- Bombers (also known as Hive Lobbers in Creative) are larger hostile onimorphs that, just like Swarmers, appear in various Onimorph controlled locations, primarly spawning from their Nests, either when a player attacks or gets too close to one. They will also appear raiding O.X.R. Bases at the start of a match. Bombers have higher health and spit Acid Bombs from afar, dealing 25 damage in a small radius. When player gets too close to a Bomber, it will burrow into the ground and resurface further away from them. They can also resurface right on top of a player, knocking them back and dealing 5 damage. Just like Swarmers, Bombers have a glowing abdomen as their weakspot, but it will be partially obstructed by their wings most of the time. When defeated, Bombers will always drop one Bug Blaster and some additional loot.
- Roly Polies
- Roly Polies are large friendly onimorphs that, just like Swarmers and Bombers, appear in various Onimorph controlled locations. Unlike others of their kind, they are not hostile but will serve as a means of transportation. Once damaged, Roly Polies will turn red and become scared, then fall to the ground and eject the user inside of it. Players can soothe them to continue using them.
- Queens
- Queens are huge hostile onimorph Bosses, which only appear in Demon's Debris, Ranger's Ruin, The Hive and Dystopia City after players clear out the area of infestation. Queens have a very high amount of health and can perform a variety of attacks, as well as burrow into the ground for a few seconds before coming out of hiding. Queen's weakspot is a glowing part of her body, placed right below its head. When eliminated, a Queen will drop high-tier loot, alongside a Legendary Slurp Juice and its respective Mythic Weapon.

The Swarm, also known in their scientific name as the Onimorphs (オニモーフ) and simply referred as the Bugs are an ancient species of giant insectoid demons from the Spirit Realm and harbingers of the Dark Presence. They first appeared in one of Hope's graffiti art in Supernova Academy before making their proper first appearance in the aftermath of Super Showdown event.
They are major antagonists of Fortnite: Battle Royale, serving as the main antagonists of Chapter 6: Season 4.
Overview[]
The Swarm, like other demons are the servants of the Dark Presence. At an unspecified point in the past, presumably around the Shattering War, they made their appearance and wreaked havoc. All of this led to the creation of the Onimorph eXtermination Rangers, a military force born with the sole purpose to eradicate the Swarm and who waited for their return for generations, in order to be able to face them.
These Slurp-obsessed demonic pests loves to dig their nests and build their hives around sources of slurp. Bringing destruction and destroying everything in their path just to drink hot slurp. Their nests will constantly ooze out hot vapor slurp and dark Magic. They are known to wrap their living prey and objects of interest in amber stashes.
Etymology[]
The term Onimorph (literally "demon form") comes from Japanese Oni (鬼) which translates as either "demon" or "ogre" and from Greek -morph, which denotes the shape or the form of something.
Appearance[]
The Swarm appears as insects with a purple exoskeleton, initially of normal small insect size, once fully grown they reach human size or become even larger. True to their name, they have an inherent demonic aspect notably featuring a menacing appearance overall and red eyes. In addition, the Queens possess distinctive bright colors. Their hands are always covered in Slurp.
