Thunderbolt of Zeus is a Ranged Mythic Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 5: Season 2.

Functionality

When activating Thunderbolt of Zeus, you will be suspended in the air for a short period of time as you hurl 3 bolts of lightning in the direction you are facing. The first 2 bolts can also pierce 1 structure, with the final bolt piercing 2 structures.

The unobtainable Zeus' Lightning Bolt used by the Zeus Boss has a few additional properties not present in the version he drops. These attributes include:

• Less damage.
• Different animation.
• Longer delay between initiation and firing.
• Longer cooldown.
• User is sent up instead of parallel to the direction of their momentum.

• Using the Thunderbolt of Zeus will render you vulnerable to attacks, as you'll be suspended in the air. Gaining high ground when attacking will lower the chances of getting hit while using it.
  • Underworld Dash can also be used to dodge enemy attacks.

Weapon ID

The Thunderbolt of Zeus is referred to as Sun Rose Zeus Lightning in the files.

Zeus' Lightning Bolt is the second version used by the Zeus Boss. It is referred to as Zeus AI Lightning in the files.

• Update v29.00: Introduced the Thunderbolt of Zeus.
  • Also added to Creative.
• Update v29.01: The Thunderbolt of Zeus no longer damages players through builds.
• Update v29.20 Hotfix: The Thunderbolt of Zeus has been vaulted for the duration of the Elements Event.
• Update v29.40: The Thunderbolt of Zeus has been unvaulted due to the Elements Event ending.

Chapter 5: Season 3

• Any humanoid character (player or AI) hit with a thunderbolt from the Thunderbolt of Zeus will briefly flash their inner skeleton.
