Update v13.20

Update v13.20 for Fortnite released on June 30th, 2020. It brought very large changes to Save the World and many changes to Battle Royale, however, Creative did not receive any new content.

Battle Royale

Weapons and Items

• New Flare Gun
  • Rare Rarity.
  • Reveals nearby enemies, ignites structures and deals 40 damage on impact.
• Vaulted Compact SMG

• Changes
  • Submachine Gun
    • All variant's fire rate reduced to 10.
    • Epic and Legendary's magazine size is now 35 and reload time decreased.
  • Charge Shotgun
    • Epic and Legendary's magazine size is now 4.
    • A charge bar has been added above the reticle.
  • Ocean's Burst Assault Rifle
    • Damage increased from 37 to 39.
  • Foraged Items
    • Gathering is now instant instead of taking a few seconds each time.

Gameplay

• Upgrade Bench
  • Is now a destructible prop.
    • Has 400 health.
  • When destroyed you can pick it up, giving you the Upgrade Bench item.
  • It can be placed at any time and will act the same as normal.
  • Added sound effect when upgrading so anyone can hear you.

• Lobby
  • Locker
    • New UI.
  • Emotes
    • If an emote has a special quality like Synced, Build-in or Traversal an icon will be shown next to the emote's name, in the emote wheel.

• Storm
  • New fog and weather added.

• Summer Splash Begins!

• LTMs now have a bullet-pointed list of their gameplay features on the map menu.

Save the World

• Yarrr's Return Questline added
  • Complete it to earn Director Riggs as a hero!
• Metal Team Leader Pack introduced.
• Hit the Road returns with challenging weekly modifiers.

A summary:

• Save the World is leaving early access, will stay as a premium experience.
  • The development of content will thus slow down.
• All paid Founders will have their Founder's Packs upgraded to the next level and unlock all the rewards included in the upgraded pack for free and Ultimate Edition owners will be granted the new Metal Team Leader Pack and 8,000 V-Bucks.
• As a sort of "compensation" for the slower content, a long term replayability feature will be introduced - Ventures. These will rotate with different Venture Seasons.
  • The first venture season will be themed around Pirates!
• The Metal Team Leader Pack is first of the new "Pack Series" - which will be the only method of purchasing Save the World.
  • Only early access founders will gain access to V-Bucks rewards.
