The sky crackles open on an all-new Reload map: Slurp Rush! Drop into this Slurp-packed island featuring familiar Chapter 2 locations. It’s live now with the v34.30 April 15 hotfix along with a rank reset and a fresh slate of weapons! (As fresh as the Slurp from Slurp Co… most of the time.)

Sippin’ on Some Slizzurp[]

The new island is an absolute Slurp haven, where you won’t find yourself reaching for Shield Potions as often thanks to the abundance of Slurp throughout. Slurp Rush will be featured as the sole Reload map for two weeks until it joins the map rotation with the v34.40 April 29 hotfix.

Slurpy Swamp[]

Slurp Co., the owner of Slurpy Swamp, has a spotty track record of contaminating nearby water sources. Thankfully, Slurp heals you, so it’s strictly an upside for the local nature!

Steamy Stacks[]

Slurpy Swamp isn’t the only factory in town. The updrafts from the Cube-powered Steamy Stacks are enough to send anyone flying, and not just from the smell. Nearby radiation levels are off the charts, helping save money on X-rays. (Doctors hate this one simple trick.)

Dirty Docks[]

Don’t expect to see a lifeguard on duty at Dirty Docks, a crate-filled industrial wharf littered with shipping containers, cranes, and spacious warehouses. Primary export: Slurp!

Reload Rank Reset[]

It’s time to refresh the ranks! You’ll need to play one Ranked Reload match to have your Ranked Reload rank revealed, and one Ranked Reload Zero Build match to have your Ranked Reload Zero Build rank revealed. Your beginning ranks will be based on your finishing ranks from the previous period.

As a reminder, players with Epic accounts that have never been used to log into Fortnite will have to complete a specific Quest (Outlast 500 opponents) before they can play Ranked.

Fuming Firearms[]

Pull up, we’ve got some weapons ready to be locked, loaded, and loaded again. Find them in Chests around any Reload map! And as always, keep your eyes peeled for Supply Drops and Loot Llamas to unpack higher-rarity versions.

Here are some of the additions to the loot pool starting today:

Remaining, reloaded! You’ll find all of these weapons still in the loot pool:

Not a weapon, but who knows, maybe you’ll also find a Jetpack 😉

Level Up To Unlock Vanguard Zadie[]

Lead the way to Slurp Rush bravely. Log into Fortnite anytime from April 15 at 9 AM ET until May 6 at 9 AM ET to get Vanguard Zadie Quests, rewarding the Vanguard Zadie Outfit adorning the emblem of your highest achieved rank tier. The Quests also reward her Pickaxe and Back Bling:

Your highest rank tier across Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, OG, Ballistic, and Rocket Racing between now and any point in the future will determine the emblems you unlock for the Vanguard Zadie Outfit. For example, if the highest rank you reach is Diamond II in OG, then you’ll get the Diamond emblem for Vanguard Zadie and all the emblems before that.

There’s Vanguard, Then There’s Elite[]

Eager for a step above? Compete in Elite Zadie Reload Cups on April 26 and April 27 for a chance to earn the Elite Zadie Outfit! Keep an eye on the Compete tab in-game or the Competitive schedule on fortnite.com for more details. There will be more opportunities to earn the Elite Zadie Outfit in May.

Slurp Rush Twitch Drops[]

When you’re not dropping into Slurp Rush, earn Slurp Rush Twitch Drops! Watch any channel in the Fortnite category on Twitch for 30 minutes cumulative from April 15 at 7 AM ET until April 21 at 12 AM ET to receive the Elite’s Sigil Wrap.

Watch for 1 hour cumulative during this time frame to receive the Route Kit Back Bling!

How to Claim Twitch Drops[]

After meeting the time requirement to claim a Drop, you can claim it from the Drops Inventory page on Twitch.

Make sure your Epic account is connected to your Twitch account BEFORE claiming to avoid issues receiving the Drop in Fortnite.

Each Drop should be yours in Fortnite right after claiming it, though it may take up to 14 days in specific cases. Please note that these Drops are not exclusive — they may be purchasable in the Fortnite Shop at a later date.

Prepare to rift in and slurp out.

We would keep it short and sweet, but there’s too much fun stuff to talk about!

Even if you can’t keep up with Sabrina, you can at least pretend with the Season 8 Music Pass.

Unlock the Sabrina Carpenter Outfit and her bodysuit Style in the Music Pass!

Free Rewards[]

Is that paint, or a piece of bubblegum that popped? In any case, you’ll absolutely pop with the B Splat Bass.

If wet paint is an invitation to you, then the splash of the Beachy Beat Aura must be your jam. Make waves on the stage!

Where are all my people at? Also in the water? Get back to shore and listen to new Jam Tracks! These free tracks are unlockable in the Season 8 Music Pass:

Premium Rewards[]

Your old Outfit not doin’ it for ya? You’ll immediately unlock the Sabrina Carpenter Outfit after purchasing the Music Pass! (Sabrina has an included LEGO Style!) This Outfit features a yellow embellished babydoll inspired by the one she wore on her most recent tour — designed by Victoria’s Secret in collaboration with celebrity stylist Jared Ellner — as well as jewelry designed by Maison Raksha.

Muah 💋 Even sweeter than the sound of music is a lipstick-stained guitar. That’s why the Sabrina-inspired SC Electric Guitar is unlockable in the Pass! Progress even further in the Pass to unlock its red Blush Style.

What if we told you there’s another Sabrina-inspired Guitar you can unlock? Surely that must be…  nonsense! Unlock the sparkly SC Guitar as a premium reward, and progress a bit further to unlock its Baby Blue Style.

Speaking of nonsense, “Nonsense” by Sabrina Carpenter is unlockable as a Jam Track. That’s not the only, only one: you can also unlock “Juno”!

From other artists, “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette and “Dark Horse” by Katy Perry ft. Juicy J are also in the Pass. Play these songs like you’re playing with magic.

At the end of the Pass, you’ll unlock another Style of the Sabrina Carpenter Outfit! This Style features a yellow embellished bodysuit based on the one she wore on tour with her babydoll. The real-life version of the bodysuit had the same designers as the babydoll!

All the items mentioned above are only some of the items in the Pass. Wholeheartedly dig what’s here? As a reminder, Music Pass rewards are not exclusive to the Pass, as they may become purchasable in the Shop at a later date.

One Sabrina is Cute, So How About Two?[]

There’s yet another Sabrina Outfit! Leave an impression with Tour-Ready Sabrina Carpenter. All of these items will be in the Shop for the entirety of Season 8:

  • Tour-Ready Sabrina Carpenter Outfit
    • Includes a skirt and boots inspired by the ones Sabrina wore on tour, which were designed by Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Michael Schmidt Studios respectively. This on-tour attire was created by celebrity stylist Jared Ellner, with the ring created by jeweler Maison Raksha!
    • Has a pink default Style, the Baby Blue alt Style, and a LEGO Style.
  • SC Heart Purse Back Bling
    • A lipstick-stained purse with a pink default Style and the Baby Blue alt Style.
  • Taste Emote
    • An Emote choreographed to “Taste” and plays part of the song!
  • Please Please Please Emote
    • An Emote choreographed to “Please Please Please” and plays part of the song!
  • Cute Cutout Contrail
    • Fall in love from out of the Battle Bus.
  • Sabrina’s Mic
    • You’ll have amazing mic chem.

The Tour-Ready Sabrina Outfit, SC Heart Purse Back Bling, Taste Emote, Please Please Please Emote, Cute Cutout Contrail, and Sabrina’s Mic will be available individually or in A Sweet Little Bundle, which also includes the “Please Please Please” Jam Track!

You’ll also find the “Taste” Jam Track in the Shop during Season 8, as well as the returning “Espresso” and “Feather.”

Dance With Sabrina[]

Switch it up with how you Emote! Sabrina’s bringing Dance Emotes with her — most Fortnite Emotes that include dancing will be called “Dance Emotes” in the Locker. While using a Dance Emote, any player can do the same dance with you at the press of a button. (Even if they don’t own the Emote!) These multiplayer Emotes are currently called “Synced Emotes,” but will be renamed “Group Emotes.”

More Emotes will be considered “Dance Emotes” in the future. Get a friend to dance with you while another friend D-Jams.

Jam Like Never Before[]

Later this Season, you’ll be able to lay down up to four loops at the same time depending on how many other players are jamming with you. And yes, you’ll be able to use loops of different Jam Tracks! Multiple loops at once allows you to get a full mix going whether you’re a solo artist, a music duo, or a tuneful trio.

Additionally, you’ll be able to join a jam quicker — just with a single button press! If you’re the one starting the jam, you can instantly kick it off with all loops of a Jam Track.

Tuning Up Gets a Tune-Up[]

Properly syncing your audio-visual (A.V.) setup is critical for the best Festival experience, and we’ve made the tune-up process more accurate than ever before. (As a reminder, you can start a tune-up from the Backstage of the Main Stage or Battle Stage!) Also, you’ll be able to set up separate tune-up profiles if you regularly alternate between a Bluetooth headset and a soundbar, for example.

Bring Your Favorite Outfits Onstage[]

Starting in Season 8, all of the Outfits you’ve favorited in your Locker will be added to the random mix of bandmates who can fill in for your band onstage! These Outfits will bring Back Blings, Kicks, and Instruments you’ve favorited. Who will help headline your next set when your friends are offline?

Fortnite Festival Content Creation[]

For Season 8, monetization of VOD content featuring eligible Jam Tracks will be limited to the first seven days of the Season. No takedown notifications should occur during or after the seven days.

Beyond this initial monetization period, content creators should expect to receive monetization claims by the respective rights holders.

The eligible Jam Tracks for Season 8 are:

More info:

  • In order to monetize your Festival content, you need to link your YouTube and Support-A-Creator (SAC) accounts.
  • IMPORTANT: When uploading the content to YouTube, be sure to upload it as Unlisted or Public. If you upload the video as Private, it’s possible you could receive a monetization claim on your video.
  • For uploading the content on other platforms, refer to the channel’s platform policies for tips on how to avoid copyright strikes.

Although unlikely, if you do receive a claim on any SAC content, there may be a short delay in YouTube processing the release of the claim. Please do not dispute the claim during this time.

Please note! 🎵 For Twitch creators streaming gameplay featuring the eligible Jam Tracks, we cannot prevent your VODs or clips from getting flagged by third-party copyright detection systems. The general recommendation is to disable VODs/clips when streaming gameplay featuring the Jam Tracks. For more information, see Twitch’s DMCA & Copyright FAQs help page.

It’s time for a change in scenery — Ballistic’s first Test Grounds update is here! “Test Grounds” is a new playlist in Fortnite, replacing what was previously unranked Ballistic. The purpose of Test Grounds is for you to try out shell maps, and we’ve got two in v34.30! That’s right, in addition to the "Hammer Fall" map we revealed in our last blog, there’s also the brand new "Storm Chaser Cove."

v34.30 also adds the Fire Grenade and OverdriveOverdrive gadgets alongside the Burst Assault Rifle and Sovereign Sniper weapons! Let’s dive in.

New Maps - Hammer Fall & Storm Chaser Cove[]

The Test Grounds playlist will alternate between the Hammer Fall and Storm Chaser Cove shell maps, as well as Skyline 10 so you can play it in a more casual environment. Map rotation is based on what maps the players queuing into the match have just played. So if four players have just played Storm Chaser Cove, four players have just played Skyline 10, and only two players have just played Hammer Fall, the next map will likely be Hammer Fall.

As a reminder, Hammer Fall and Storm Chaser Cove are both shell maps, meaning they lack environment art for now. The reason for releasing maps in this state is so they get in your hands earlier — allowing us to make layout changes more quickly based on your feedback. The environmental details will come later, but for now, give us your feedback after trying these maps out!

The first is Hammer Fall, a sprawling fortress with belfries that tower over the expansive battlefield:

Then there’s Storm Chaser Cove, which is modeled after a beach resort on the water. The Recon Grenade is especially handy here as close encounters are the most natural path to victory. Some of its walls are low — with a little investigation and practice, you’ll find ample opportunities for safely raining grenades on opponents from afar.

New Gadgets - Fire Grenade and Overdrive[]

There’s nothing like a little fire! The Fire Grenade is now available for purchase as a gadget. Light it up and toss it to engulf an area with flames, damaging any enemies unlucky enough to stand in it. It’s great for controlling spaces and flushing opponents out from behind cover.

What’s fire without (brain) fuel? Think of the new Overdrive gadget as a shot of adrenaline straight to the dome. Drink it to increase your movement speed, weapon reload speed, and how quickly you can swap between weapons. You can also use it to speed up the planting or defusing of the Rift Point Device.

New Weapons - Burst Assault Rifle and Sovereign Sniper[]

One, two, three, one, two, three. The new Burst Assault Rifle is true to its name, rattling off high-damage three-round blasts. Incredibly accurate and packing a serious punch, it’s great for defending sites against any and all attackers.

Also new is the Sovereign Sniper, a lightweight rifle built for mobility. It won’t do the job in one hit to the body, but you’ll be able to land a second shot much faster than its sister Sniper, the Reaper. It’s also cheaper!

Ballistic’s First Ranked "R&D Season"[]

Ballistic ranks are being reset for the first time ever with the v34.30 update! We’re calling the Ranked Season "R&D Season 1." R&D is short for Refine and Design, which we’ll be doing a lot alongside your feedback. Whether you’re completely new to Ballistic or returning, you’ll need to play one game to establish your rank.

As a reminder, Ranked Ballistic is based on the average rank of your party. The winning team gains rank in Ballistic and the losing team loses rank. Rounds won, rounds lost, eliminations, and assists all influence your rank progression or regression. Good luck!

Early Access Development Update[]

In our last update, we reimplemented pre-match fill, and we've seen an increase in the number of matches starting full in Ranked. We're approaching 90% of matches starting with 5v5. We're also hoping improvements made to loading times in v34.30 will improve this percentage even more.

The biggest request we’ve received during this time has been for a tutorial, and we’re happy to share that one is currently in the works for Ballistic. We’re also in the process of adding a slot for secondary weapons, so that purchased pistols will no longer take the spot of your primary weapon.

Other updates are also in the pipeline that we can’t give an exact timeline on yet, like being able to view the scoreboard after you’ve been eliminated, damage falloff being applied to Flex Gadget explosions, and further audio improvements when walking and sprinting.

In the meantime, we’re still looking for your input on Ballistic. Here are specifically the things we want to hear from you about:

  • New Maps: Map flow, spacing, and any issues you run into on the new shell maps.
  • Weapons: Whether it's balance changes or thoughts on the Burst Assault Rifle and Sovereign Sniper, let us know!
  • Gadgets: How do you feel about the new Fire Grenade and Overdrive gadgets?
  • Ranked: Share your thoughts with us on the new Ranked Season!

Complete an in-game post-match survey to share your feedback with us, or post it on the Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit (which we’re using for Ballistic as well) and the English Fortnite Discord. We’ll touch on the feedback we’ve received in our next blog update on April 22.

Improvements and Fixes - v34.30[]

  • Fixed an issue where grenades could detonate planted Proximity Mines through walls.
  • Fixed an issue where grenades would not deal damage to Bubble Shields.
  • Fixed an issue where dropped weapons could persist into future rounds.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a delay when opening and purchasing weapons from the Buy Menu.
  • Fixed an issue where players could fall through the map on Skyline 10’s B site.
  • Fixed an issue where weapons could rotate while sliding.
  • Fixed an issue where Fortnite would sometimes crash when leaving a Ballistic match.
  • Fixed an issue where Fortnite would sometimes crash when eliminated in a Ballistic match.
  • Prevented some incorrect and redundant notifications from appearing on the activity feed.
  • Reduced load times for Ballistic on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
  • Implemented several technical performance improvements.

Make the Test Grounds one of your new stomping grounds, and let us know your thoughts!
