War Machine's Hover Jets are an Uncategorized Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that were added in Chapter 5: Season 4.

Functionality

War Machine's Hover Jets allow the player to fly into the air for an extended amount of time after pressing the jump button in the air. While in the air, the player has the ability to wield their Weapons, use Healing Items, and even use Emotes.

When using War Machine's Hover Jets in the air, pressing the sprint button will boost the speeds the player travel significantly, but in exchange increases the amount of fuel used.

• Once activated, War Machine's Hover Jets will prevent the player from taking fall damage when they land. Even if they fall beyond 3 walls high.
• War Machine's Hover Jets give players increased air movement, making them much harder to hit.
  • You can counter the air strafing by using auto-aiming weapons such as Captain America's Shield or War Machine's Hover Jets. Though the former requires the user get close to make hitting the airborne opponent easier.
• War Machine's Hover Jets refuel pretty quickly, allowing for quick use.
• There is a fairly easy trick that some call the "P-Dash" found by the streamer "Prospering" where you hover, dash, cancel, slide, and repeat for extremely fast movement.
  • This is great to use to push a fight, chase someone, retreat from a fight, or to rotate into the next zone.

Trivia

• War Machine's Hover Jets are part of a 3-part set involving the entire device worn when the item is picked up. When the item is held, the jet thrusters at the bottom corners will open up and activate.
  • This trait is shared with the other items associated with War Machine. Being War Machine's Arsenal and War Machine's Auto Turret.
• Prior to Update v31.10, Emotes could be used when hovering mid-air but their animations break due to the leg animations of hovering using War Machine's Hover Jets taking priority, Emotes that move the top section of the player's model without full body movement such as Surfin' Bird or Evil Plan will play somewhat normally, while Emotes that use full body motion such as Flippin' Incredible break the player's animations completely.
  • If using a Traversal Emotes such as Sparrow Run or Get Griddy when hovering mid-air, the emote will still be active even after War Machine's Hover Jets' fuel runs out.
  • Additionally, Emotes that spawn objects below the player that is interacted with as part of the Emote such as This is Fine will still spawn, but will not be interacted with like normal
