Winterfest 2021 was an event in Fortnite: Battle Royale to celebrate the Holidays. The event started on December 16th, 2021 and ended on January 6th, 2022.
This event was most similar to Winterfest 2019 because 2020 didn't have Winterfest, and since presents returned inside the Winterfest Cabin, rebranded to Sgt. Winter's Cabin. As with 2019, presents were available to open and challenges unlock daily, to give free rewards.
In total, there were 16 cosmetic rewards (2 from Quests, 14 from presents).
Additionally, current or recent Fortnite Crew members received the Golden Look Board upon entering the game.
The game itself also received updates, as the Snowball Launcher, Chiller Grenades, Sneaky Snowmando, and Presents were unvaulted. The majority of the map was covered with snow and festive decorations appeared in most locations. Players could also locate Sgt. Winter at various locations across the map, driving Holiday Big Rig and two Red-Nosed Rangers on festive decorated Quadcrashers.
Winterfest Cabin
The Winterfest Cabin, rebranded as Sgt. Winter's Cabin, is where you went to open presents. Sitting by the fireplace allowed you to get 10, 20, 100, 1000 or 5000 supercharged XP every 15 seconds. Supercharged XP did not level the player up directly, but instead allowed them to gain boosted XP for the next amount gained.

Interacting with other objects in the cabin resulted in other 'Easter Eggs' to play, such as an RC Quadcrasher appearing when the Quadcrasher was selected, and the snowglobe playing music.
Winterfest Creative Rewards
From December 16th, 2021 to January 5th, 2022, if players spent two hours playing featured creations in the Winterfest tab, they recieved the following rewards:

Trivia
- Presents could be given by one of a few people, them being:
- Sgt. Winter
- Fishstick
- Fresh Aura
- Gumbo
- The only present without a visible tag was the Matrix bag.
- Mythic items were added to Creative every day near the start of the event.
- This was the first Winter event since 2017 to not have an LTM rotation unlike 2018's 14 Days of Fortnite, Winterfest 2019 and 2020's Operation: Snowdown, instead opting to promote winter themed Creative games on its Winterfest callout.
- The popularity of Winterfest and the success of Fortnite Chapter 3 led to several login errors and queues during the event, even causing a 7 hour long Unplayable Period on December 29th.
- Players who logged in were given a Crescent Shroom Harvesting Tool as compensation for Winterfest server issues.
